Feeling Alone in What You’re Dealing With?
You’ve been trying to function while something inside still doesn’t feel right. On the outside, life may look manageable, but internally it’s a different story…
Persistent anxiety, emotional exhaustion, mood shifts, and feeling overwhelmed can wear people down over time. Therapy, medication, and coping strategies may have helped somewhat, but nothing has fully resolved what’s going on.
You’re not looking for surface-level support anymore. You want a psychiatric approach that connects all the pieces. That is what adult psychiatry at Mindful is built to do.

The Difference a Full Psychiatric Evaluation Can Make
- ➤ You get clear clinical answers instead of more unanswered questions.
- ➤ You perform at work based on your real capability, not unmanaged symptoms.
- ➤ You can have more capacity to show up more fully in your relationships.
- ➤ Medication is reduced or eliminated as behavioral and integrative strategies take hold.
- ➤ You feel more like yourself, not clouded or overcorrected, but supported with clarity.
- ➤ Over time, daily functioning becomes easier, and life feels more manageable.
The goal is simple: fewer interventions over time, the lowest effective medication only when needed, and long-term patient care that gives you your life back.

A More Thorough Approach to Adult Psychiatry
Nothing is prescribed before a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. We begin with a full review of your history, current symptoms, prior medication responses, and any co-occurring conditions. Only after understanding what is driving the clinical picture do we make treatment recommendations.
A board-certified psychiatrist supports you from day one, making sure you understand your care, feel heard, and leave every appointment more equipped than when you arrived.
We routinely assess nutrition, sleep patterns, and relevant biochemical factors as part of a thorough clinical evaluation. We prioritize accuracy in evaluation so treatment is appropriately targeted.

What Our Patients Are Saying
Adult Psychiatry in DFW (FAQs)
Is what I am feeling serious enough to see a psychiatrist?
If it is affecting your sleep, your relationship with loved ones, your ability to function at work, or your sense of who you are, it is serious enough. Many adults assume it’s just stress or personality until a proper assessment shows what’s actually going on and whether treatment would help. Our team welcomes new patients looking for real clarity, not rushed answers.
Will I be put on medication at the first appointment?
No. A comprehensive evaluation of potential mental health disorders comes first. Medication is never the starting point and is not always part of the plan. When it is used, it is the lowest effective dose for the shortest appropriate time, with your full understanding of why and for how long.
I have been managing on my own for years. Do I actually need help?
Managing is not the same as being well. High-functioning adults often absorb the cost of unaddressed anxiety, PTSD, relationship issues, or mood disorders for years before anything forces the question. The fact that you have been functioning does not mean what you are carrying is normal or that it cannot get better. Our mental health services give you a clear answer either way.
What conditions do you treat in adults?
Anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, depression, ADHD, anger management, and substance use disorder are the primary conditions that our expert psychiatrists treat in adults. Integrative and gut-informed psychiatric care is available for symptoms linked to nutritional or biological factors, supported by physicians bringing wide experience and collaborative clinical insight.
What therapy approaches do you use for adults?
Talk therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, ACT, ART, supportive therapy, and behavior modification are all available depending on the mental health conditions. Most practices separate therapy from medication. Here, our board-certified psychiatrists treat them as one because your care should never feel fragmented.
I don’t want just coping strategies. Can you help beyond that?
Yes. While coping tools can help in the short term, the focus is on understanding root causes such as thought patterns, trauma, sleep, brain chemistry, and other associated factors like alcohol use, so treatment goes deeper than surface-level management.
How much does adult psychiatry cost in Fort Worth, TX?
Costs can vary depending on the psychiatric clinician, appointment length, and insurance coverage. We discuss costs upfront before your first session, before any commitment. You’ll never be caught off guard thanks to our policy of 100% transparency. Check out our fee schedule here.
What if therapy or medication did not work for me before?
Previous treatment experiences do not define your future results. Psychiatric support for adults is not one-size-fits-all, and many adults benefit from a more personalized and collaborative approach. This is exactly what we focus on, here.
What can I expect from adult psychiatry treatment?
Our clinic provides outpatient services for adults dealing with anxiety, depression, panic disorders, and other mental wellness concerns. Your care is always led by an experienced psychiatrist. We do not incorporate psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners or physician assistants into our model because direct access to residency-trained physicians minimizes medications and maximizes education.
Do you only work with adults?
While this page focuses on adult care, our clinic offers Child and Adolescent Psychiatry access throughout Texas. Every clinician on our team is a fully licensed physician trained to work with you and your family to create personalized treatment plans. To learn more about available services, referral support groups, or scheduling options, contact us through the form on this page.
Do you offer telehealth for adults across Texas?
Yes, our expert psychiatrists are based in Fort Worth and serve the Dallas-Fort Worth area in person, with telehealth availability varying by psychiatrist. Dr. Bone provides physician-level telehealth psychiatry across Texas and does not currently offer in-person.
Do you take insurance?
Since 2014, the practice has never accepted insurance plans. No pressure to rush an evaluation, no incentive to limit the scope of care. We provide documentation and tools, including Reimbursify, to help recover a meaningful portion of fees through out-of-network benefits.
You Don’t Have to Keep Managing This Alone
Many adults have spent years managing symptoms without a clear understanding of what is actually driving them. We take a different approach: careful evaluation first, then a customized treatment plan. We serve in Dallas-Fort Worth and throughout Texas via online appointments.
