When The Worry Keeps Coming Back No Matter What You Try

The thoughts keep circling. The tension sits in your chest, your jaw, or the back of your neck. Whether you are managing your own feelings of anxiety or watching your child struggle through it, you are tired of mental health care that moves fast, explains little, and leaves you guessing.

You have been through enough appointments to know the difference between a physician who listens and one who just puts you on medication.

If you want anxiety treatment from someone with the training and experience to handle this with care and precision, instead of feeling rushed through brief, high-volume appointments, we’re here to help.

We conduct a comprehensive anxiety evaluation, identify contributing factors and triggers, and explain treatment options clearly before any prescription is written.

When Anxiety Treatment Finally Starts Making Sense

  • You finally sleep through the night again, stop avoiding situations that trigger panic, and regain a sense of calm and control.
  • You get the medical treatment at the lowest effective dose, for the shortest time necessary. Sometimes not at all.
  • Your child stops being a trial-and-error experiment. Evaluation comes before any prescription.
  • Your child’s emotional outbursts, the avoidance, and the daily dread become manageable because the plan is built on precision.

Most importantly, you leave every appointment knowing what is happening, what is being done, and why.

And as symptoms improve, many patients find they need appointments less frequently.

What Our Patients Are Saying

FAQs About Anxiety Treatment in Fort Worth

Does anxiety ever go away?

Severe anxiety often does not improve without proper treatment and support. Anxiety usually improves most when it’s treated with the right balance of support and care. An experienced psychiatrist helps you to reach a point where you need far less anxiety care over time.

What happens at the first appointment?

First, we listen to you. We ask you questions and do a comprehensive review of your medical history, symptoms, and look for any root cause(s) for your anxiety. This will help us give you a clear treatment plan. Instead of surface-level talk and handing over the prescription, the detailed explanation of treatment options keeps us accountable to you as our patient.

How long does it take for anxiety treatment to work?

Therapy typically shows meaningful progress within days to a few months. Medication, when used, begins to take effect within two to six weeks. A thorough upfront evaluation identifies the best treatment options and provides a realistic timeline for what to expect.

What kinds of anxiety disorders do you treat?

Our psychiatrists treat a wide range of mental health disorders, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), panic disorder, specific phobias, selective mutism, depression and anxiety, and anxiety tied to a traumatic event or difficult everyday life stressors. Many patients come to us after dealing with excessive fear, muscle tension, chest pain, dry mouth, racing thoughts, or other physical symptoms of anxiety for a long time. Your Mindful psychiatrist can coordinate with outside therapists/clinicians to create a wrap-around team that helps you understand risk factors, rule out medical problems, address physical conditions when needed, and build the right treatment plan for your mental wellbeing.

What therapies and medications are used for anxiety treatment?

We use different ways to help people improve daily activities, thought patterns, and overall mental well-being through talk therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), breathing techniques, progressive muscle relaxation, problem-solving skills, aerobic exercise, and other psychological therapies. Depending on the situation, treatment programs may also include selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, antidepressant medication, beta-blockers, and supplements, taking care to avoid unnecessary long-term use whenever possible.

What if I try to treat my anxiety without medication?

Many people benefit from therapy approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) before considering medication. These modalities are highly effective, and they can treat anxiety on their own in some cases. But if medicine is necessary, we use the lowest effective dose for the shortest term indicated in your treatment plan. We aim to keep you empowered at all times.

Do you prescribe medicine in the first session?

We don’t prescribe medication without first completing a comprehensive evaluation. Medication is only recommended when it is clinically indicated and clearly explained to you.

Which areas of anxiety do you specialize in?

Our expert psychiatrists work with all anxiety symptoms and ways of showing up, both in adults and kids. Generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, phobias, and more general nervousness or avoidance – we can help no matter how your anxiety shows up.

Can I explore therapy options for anxiety treatment of my child before starting medication?

In many cases, yes. We often explore therapy and behavioral approaches before considering medication for children. The initial evaluation gives a complete picture of anxiety treatment. Parents are allowed to walk through every reasonable option before accepting any recommendation. In many cases, we can help your child reduce anxiety through calming and grounding techniques, breathing exercises, and some physical activities. We bring real improvements via therapy and carefully considered medication to build a calmer, more balanced life. Medication is only prescribed when medically indicated and fully explained to you.

What is gut psychiatry, and how does it relate to anxiety?

The gut is directly linked to the brain. A healthy gut affects nervous system regulation (how calm or agitated you feel in basic terms) and vice versa. A review of your nutrition, micronutrients (if indicated), and gut health helps us make your treatment plan as effective as possible.

Do you take insurance?

Since 2014, we have centered on patients, which drives our choice not to accept insurance. We provide tools, including Reimbursify, to help you recover a meaningful portion of your fees through out-of-network benefits.

How quickly can I be seen?

Once you book your consultation, it typically takes 1 to 2 weeks. We know anxiety does not wait, which is why we do not make you wait three to four months the way most practices do. When anxiety is affecting daily life, that is not a reasonable timeline.

Anxiety Treatment Built Around Getting Better, Not Managing Symptoms Indefinitely
